Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide basic care to patients and assists them with daily activities under the supervision of a licensed nurse. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, grooming, feeding, and assisting with mobility.
  • Take and record patients' vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration rate.
  • Help patients with activities like dressing, toileting, and transferring between beds and wheelchairs.
  • Document and report any changes in patients' health or behavior to the nursing staff.
  • Work closely with nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, and counselors to implement and support treatment plans.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
  • Keep patient rooms and common areas clean and organized.
  • Ensure the safety of patients by following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Other clinical duties as requested.
 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Able to work independently and as a positive member of a team.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and their families.
  • Ability to lift and move patients and stand for long periods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and function calmly in situations, which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and be detail oriented.
 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA program and certification.
  • Knowledge or experience in behavioral health care preferred.
  • Experience working with EHR and Strong computer literacy skills.
  • CPR certification
 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Frequently required to twist, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, stand, sit, and walk for up to eight hours per day. 
  • Able to lift and transfer people, with varying weights.
